FAQ:
- Per the bylaws, each family is to complete four hours of volunteer work each year.
- It is up to you to track your volunteer hours – honor system applies here!
- We have collated a running list of ongoing tasks and jobs that need to be accomplished each year.
- The list of volunteer tasks and jobs is available on Google Docs and on our Facebook page.
- You will see mostly grounds related items on this list (gardening, etc). Feel free to take the initiative and just help out, or reach out to any board member or Michelle (club manager) for guidance.
- Do you want to be in charge of weeding or picking up trash in a specific area as a way to accomplish your hours? That’s another option! Share this with any Board member and we will sign you up!
- Do you have a special skill or talent that may be useful?
- We want to know about it. It would be great to have a who’s who list to call upon when needing help with electrical, plumbing, technology, artistry, etc.
Events:
- Events will now occur using a cooperative event planning model.
- We are requesting a volunteer member to take the lead of events. This person will partner with a Board member to plan and run events.
- The Sign-Up Genius links for events will be posted to Facebook and below. If you need any assistance in signing up, just ask!
Tracking:
- We will still track volunteers through sign in sheets and Sign-Up Genius.
- This is for our own records. The Board is gathering data to clearly understand the fiscal impact that each volunteer makes.
- We ask that you complete this form each time your family has completed four hours of volunteer work,
- There is no limit to the amount of volunteering you can do or the number of times you can complete this form!
- Again, this is to help us understand the fiscal impact of volunteer hours as well as be able to provide thanks and acknowledgment to you!
We thank you in advance for the effort that each member puts into caring for Swan Lake. It’s because of our co-op that we continue to keep membership dues low while simultaneously making structural and cosmetic upgrades.
